used to be mega pes fan until 07, then went fifa and enjoyed fifa 09 and 10... however not enjoyed fifa 11 as much, and wondering what you guys have heard about improvements and which way you will be going?

PES died when the PS3/360 was released. Every year I tell myself..."maybe this year PES will go back to its roots and be the game it was" and every year im wrong.

Fifa is becoming a little boring to me because I have been playing it since 08 but its going to beat PES hands down yet again unfortunately.

I dont know what i'm going to do, i want to boycott EA due to their shoddy tactics but i really like fifa and there is no way im touching PES, its horrible arcadey type football with nothing good about it.

yeah i just find with fifa 11 its pretty robotic with shooting, i was to have control over my shots, like kick off 2 - after-touch :D

This is what I am trying to explain to a mate of mine who plays PES and slates FIFA. I used to fight the corner for PES all day long until it come on on PS3 and went, as you said, arcadey. I will download both demos when they come on the PSN but its going to be another win for fifa...untill the day comes that Konami go back to their roots and remake the game....maybe next gen?

mate no offence but your obviously rubbish at the game or have no idea how the engine works.

i can pretty much place a shot wherever i want it to go in fifa, you have control over power, height and curl as well as placement.

a low along the ground shot to bottom left corner.

a top corner finesse, or along the ground finesse (curling shot).

a power shot into a top corner.

etc.

but to be fair im one of the better players out there, why not take a look at the ps3 tourney thread and look at my goals scored on the league table and compare with the other players in the tourney.

lol... quite fancy yourself i see ....

I do quite well when i play thanks, but its no where near as good shooting wise as fifa10 in my view, the dip and curl is not that controllable and its pretty robotic, i can score from certain angles and 30 yarders all the time with someone like rooney,

curl is controllable, dont think dip is unless your hitting a free kick.

it may well be, but in my view the curl and the whole shooting attacking area bit is a step back from fifa10. (just my view)

it's the exact same but they added consistency into it, better players are more consistent. therefore a rubbish player can pull off an amazing shot, but you have to nail the control and power bang on, otherwise they will be inconsistent. or the opposite is true, even with ronaldo you can take rubbish shots if you mess up the control and power, but it is a lot harder to do because he is very consistent.
