Hey all.

I post this as it makes a change from bad news about jobs.
Today Siemens PLM rang me as ages ago I registered on gradcracker.
They spoke of a job working for Siemens PLM in sales at Redbull F1 and then Dyson (and somewhere else that I have forgotten).

I did not ask too much as I started my PhD a few weeks ago.
Less than 4 weeks after graduation I have been contacted about a job that I don't need :p.

Anyone else had something like this happen to them?

Its nice seeing people who do employable subjects at uni :)

Congrats, hope theirs more to come :)

Yeah, 3 times.

I ended up getting a job at the NHS in May 2008 and 3 jobs I had applied for about 3 months earlier and thought had gone all rang me to offer the jobs.
1) Juvenile Prison working as an assistant teacher (I had worked there for 3.5 months voluntary)
2) RSPCA Inspector
3) Quality Audit Control in a factory (which I did for 27 years)

All the god damn time from recuitment agents, usually about jobs that I have no interest in or are just completely unsuitable.

Wait until you have a few years experience under your belt and register on job sites to find your next job. You'll quickly get fed up of all the crap jobs that come your way!

When I started my first job after graduation, I got a call for an interview somewhere else after two days in the job.

In hindsight I regret turning down the interview as it would have been a much better employer.

I got a job through a phone call from Monster, ended up working for the firm nearly two years. It happened when I had a job already and has never happened since, especially when I desperately needed work!

Thank you so much for this thread - I'd never even heard of gradcracker! Some more grad schemes to apply for that don't appear on the mainstream grad job sites.

Hope I make it someday! :(

I get tons of spam email like that. They get my address from the ICAS or CTA results so they know I'm doing Accounting. Apparently they do random phone calls too!
