Which old comedy was, "Today I will mostly be..."

No chance, the Fast Show quotes are still heard today, HE&C's was a poor imitiation of the most excellent characters Paul Whitehouse had come up with!

Actually t'was the other way round Paul made poor imitations of Harrys best characters after Harry decided HE & C was getting too repetetive he was asked to join in witrh the fast show but said no as he didn't wish to do the same ol' sketches day in day out!

So why is Paul Whitehouse often creditted with being the genius behind it all? Also, it was getting repetitive but he didn't want to join the Fast Show because it was the same 'ol sketches!?

Even Charlie what's his face is held in higher regard.

In fact, name a few characters that Harry Enfield bought to the masses, Keving the teenager............erm.............Stavros........Loadsamoney are the only decent ones.

Now name Paul Whitehouses ;)

Me? The 13th Duke of Wybourne? Here? In a sixth form girl's dormitory? At three o'clock in the morning? With my reputation? What were they thinking of?

Louis Balfour: What are you going to play for us today, Jackson?
Jackson Jeffrey Jackson: Trumpet.
Louis Balfour: No, er, what tune?
Jackson Jeffrey Jackson: [indignant] Tune? This' jazz!

Lies You forget:

Mr Cholmondley-Warner, The Slobs, The Dutch Coppers, The Old Gits, The three(sometimes four) Scousers, Tim-Nice But dim, Tory Boy, Smashie 'n' Nicey, Michael Paine, You Didn't Wanna do that and many more

edit: and remember "It's not over Till the Fat Bloke Sings!"

All shockingly crap, repetitive charachters imo, the Scousers and Smashie n Nicey were about the only decent ones. It went badly stale quickly after the first series imo. The Fast Show got better and better and you can never beat the 'relationship' that Charlie and Paul Whitehouse built up in the Posh knob who is in love with his Irish groundsman :D

Swiss Tony ;)

You say that but the Fast shows Charactwers were even moreso shockingly repetetive than Enfields. Enfields characters had at least a change of environment and situation form time to time whereas the fast shows characters were always the same old same old. Plus the fast show is no more and Harry and Paul is back hmm... I wonder why maybe because they have a better routine going than the fast show ever did.

You are just wrong. Admit it. No one is backing you up, so :p

'Tomato - Ted - aubergine - your - potato - wife's - turnip - dead.' :D

I liked the guy who went mental when he say black.
"Black Black, what's for dinner tonight mother, nails on fathers grave"
or the couple who always caught there neighbours shagging where ever they went. :D

Competitive dad was another favourite.

Suits you just got a bit annoying after a while, mental black painter man was always a laugh, jumpers for goal posts.

Ahh the memories.

Last of the old style comedies/sketch shows really before things staretd to move on in my eyes with things like big train which got a little more obscure.
