No need to worry, even when the new set arrive you'll be able to race the older events still. The money bonus will remain in effect until the next time they patch the game now, same as the other bonuses we've had since the game was released :)

You don't join other people's remote races, you simply set your drivers to online and other people on your friends list can then use your drivers in their races. Your drivers are stored on the servers as long as they're set to online so you can't use them yourself but they're also always available for others to use. So nope, you don't need to have your machine running.

haven't played this game since the big update for it, what's new in it ?

gt5 is worth installing took me over 30 mins to do it last year when it came out.

also after you have played it a bit put some B class drivers up to share then other people can use your drivers and you collect the cash if they have done well.

Ok cool.. Is there an option to manually install (Only got PS3 yesterday), can you do this with all games ?

Installation is on a game by game basis, so some do, some don't, or in the case of GT5 it's optional (if you didn't install it when you first launched GT you can get it to install the content from the ingame options somewhere).

I've started running some remote races recently, so if anyone wants a bit of a B-Spec driver boost, share a driver and add me on PSN (FlukeRogi).
 
Why are the patch downloads so damn big and so slow... Fed up of the PS3 and I have not even had a decent game on it yet.....

Edit - given up and playing on xbox whilst GT patches itself so far its been an hour and a half and its done %29. Internet is running at full 50mb too....

It has to be said, getting GT5 up and running for the first time is a painfully slow experience. There is around 6 patches to install, must be totalling over a 1GB, then the game itself takes anything up to an hour to install.. It seemly looks to be completed installing at what it reports as 16 seconds remaining but honestly... Those 16 secs are the longest 16 secs in living history.

Then once the game is installed it then takes a while to set up a profile but GT5 is a beautiful game to look at once its up and running. Drives quite well too...

Still has to be the longest install time for any console game in history… lol Actually its not funny, consoles are meant to be pick up and play, with GT5 you need to plan this 2 hours in advance if it’s a fresh install..

Little wonder PS3 owners want nothing less then a 120GB HD.. lol

When did you get a PS3 anyhow? always thought you'd never come to the darkside.. lol

all joking apart, when GT5 finally installs etc.. enjoy. Still a good game, even though it has some shortcomings..

Will there ever be online leaderboards for fastest laptimes, or is that now in the game and i've missed it..
