Hi all,

I've just found myself to have a lot of time on my hands (read unemployed) and also to not have any money. Could anyone suggest me a decent free to play mmo that I can get the majority of the game and fun out of without putting any money into it?

I have got LOTRO and it's good but I've played it loads. Something with a good lot of people and a fun base but where I can play casually if possible. Basically looking for something new and fun that you guys like?

APB might be worth a look - I played the original and enjoyed it but never bought more time. I'll have to look at sys requirements though.

bhavv is maplestory any good, it always looked childish to me?

I liked it a lot, but it had waaay too much grind. The big bang update is meant to have reduced the grind a lot though.

Meh, 2 hour download now. You have to use the link for Vista for windows 7, the normal downloaded didnt make a functional game for me last time I tried it.

I heard that the new APB is pretty much pay to win though...

I did pretty well last night and im a total "noob". There are a lot of players of similar experience and the guys getting a lot of kills get a bounty on their heads. :D

Anyway I had huge ammounts of fun for a free game.

EVE Online is not f2p but afaik is one of the few mmo's that let you extend your sub with in-game currency.... ie. if you're broke and have loads of spare time you can grind & play eve free (minerals i mined are free logic :p)

no one just starting a free trial of 14 days is going to have the skills to make enough isk to buy PLEX just from mining or mission running

What kind of genre are you into? (Asian/Middles Ages ..etc)

Do you like grinding?

Are you into PvP?

I'll try find you one. :3

Genre : I'm open to try anything, have enjoyed a short time in Aion and Rift along with LOTRO. I don't mind sci-fi or real world either.

Grinding : I don't mind a bit of a grind if there's something at the end of it. I didn't like Aion over L30 because the grind was too much.

Pvp : Yep, I like to split time between PvE and PvP as much as poss to have it equal.

Cheers.

I tried All points bulletin reloaded last night. Needless to say I was on it until 1.30am lol. Very impressed! :D

gets old fast though i played it for a few days solid and havent been back on it in ages.

it pretty much is tbh you can still compete FTP but the guns are nowhere near as good as the Pay2win ones and unlocking stuff takes ages maybe the guns towards the end of the agent progression are more similar to the pay2win ones but getting there will take you forever

I used to play a couple when I had more time that were very enjoyable.

Atlantica Online is a great party/turn based MMO.

Sword of the New World also was pretty enjoyable. I have yet to return so have no idea how they look/feel now but give them a shot.

- Asian styled.
- a lot of PvE content for a free game, guild battles every week 80 vs 80 players. PvP server's have open world PvP after level 30. PvE server's are exact same but you have to activate Player Killing mode which lasts 10 hours minimum.
- Get's very grindy at high level but it can be quite easy still to level.

'WoW clone'

- a lot of classes and races to choose from.
- Guild battles and some PvP options.

Another 'WoW clone'

- It's basically the same as WoW but the class system is different, you can actually level up 2 classes and they use eachothers skills. So for example you can have a Mage/Priest.

I think those three are your best choice. I loved Perfect World, such an amazing game, played it for over 3 years now.

Still playing APB - almost a week now. Got a real good sniper rifle. 2 shots and they are dead! I even keep getting bounties on my head lol.

Not spent a penny yet - dont see the point/need.

crimecraft bleedout just went free to play on steam , how about that?

I was in there last night.. tbh first impressions weren't to good.. a lot of people not to happy with it. Only one server is really gonna kill this one. And 'Big Honda' problem, (if you play you'll know what I mean).

Added to which a lot of Steam players are saying they're not getting the Steam startup package.. and it isn't really an MMO, more like CS:S with some roleplay elements.
