DiRT 3 with Kris Meeke

just got this on ps3 today, so far i love it [ apart from the menus system i prefered dirt 2s menus]

im crap at them but having fun trying the Gymkhana bits (i say trying because i keep crashing lol hehehe even my mam sat and had go lol)

One bit that has annoyed me is that there stil isnt a save replay feature - the upload to yopu to only allows 1 min of replays, we should be able to save our replays fully stop. then the upload to youtube option but allow full uploads of replays
 
What's this like compared to teh first Colin Mcrae Rally - I loved that game... where it was 100 percent focussed on rallies in different stages, I remember thinking the UK's stages were like something out of postman pat land, was great :D

If it's more like this then I'll buy it, Dirt 2 was an Americanised piece of fail.

And sod the game - how much does that chair sell for? A lot more than my car I bet!?

Its 60%/70% Rally and the rest is mixed up with gymkhana/rallycross/rallyraid events.

Its come on so much from DiRT2.
 
Im loving online play at the moment. Only thing that annoys me on rally is when you catch someone up and they just purposely get in your way then RAM you off the track! Argg
 
Loving this game but I just cannot get decent times on snow at all. Everyone I play against on multiplayer seems to be way quicker. Must be my car setup or something. In a lot of online stuff you don't have to option to change settings.
 
Well im loving Dirt3 finished season 1 - 4 doing the mini triangle world tour events at the moment, This is easy best dirt by a country mile :p

Dirt 1 was good Dirt2 was ok but then below average at times and FAR FAR FAR to Americanized and Dirt3 is awesome in every department most fun ive had with a racing game since NFS Underground 2
 
Anyone got any tips for how to do the spins in Gymkhana? (the one where you are spinning on the spot not the donuts) I can't work out how to get the car to start it the trick at all. The only time I do it I'm effectively spinning against the wall which is kind of against the point of what you are meant to do ha :p
 
Yep, approach the centre at a slight angle at a lowish speed, then handbrake into the centre and go straight into full lock, full throttle and you should be able to swing it round in a tight circle.
 
Well at the weekend I had another go with this after initially being dissapointed with the car control using the XBox 360 Official wheel.

I randomly tried some steering wheel settings and found it far better to drive and I could be quite competitive with it. For anyone else with the same dilema, here are the settings I use, maybe someone can offer some possible improvements?

Force Feedback: On
Vibration Strength 40%
Wheel Strength 60%
Wheel Weight 70%

I'm currently on the Gymkana events. I've done gold on all the races, etc and Platinum on all the challenges. I'm currently doing the first drift challenge and really struggling to rack up the score. I can slide but maintaining it and then going straight into another is so hard using the wheel. What car setup does everyone use? Any tips if using the wheel?
 
Cheers guys, my approach at the minute has just been to just let go of the gas and handbrake and whack the power on. Think i've been carrying WAY too much speed and not aiming for the right point. Will give it another bash tongiht after a bit more F1:2010.

Did anyone else find the Gymkhana tutorials pointless that told you what you had to do but not how to do it. I mean come on, I could've worked out for myself that I need to drift between gates etc.
 
I'm giving this a bash at the moment. Just about through year 1 - in the middle of the gymkhana events at the moment.

I'm finding it pretty tough. I'm playing with the controller, and it's so sensitive.
 
i play this online quite often on the jam session outbreak mode, and its getting full of cheaters who find ways of driving into walls etc so they get stuck and no other players can infect them, its not cleverness its just basic cheating.

Do codemasters fix it - no they just release addon pack after addon pack after addon pack.
