DiRT 3 with Kris Meeke

Im a bit surprised this thread (or even an official one) hasn't taken off. I was expecting loads of people to be interested in this game.

Anyway, should we get a few people together who fancy some good clean games together. Online is an absolute blast, it would be great to join a room of OcUK peeps.

What do you think ?

All that I'm hoping for is a lot of new tracks or locations via DLC, I'm loving driving the fiesta around but it is abit repetitive on the standard track list already!

Oh and another thing about the youtube uploader, queues?! I hadn't noticed that before either. :P I'm currently attempting to upload 3 clips then merge them together to make one replay for youtube.

Just had my first online game with my friends and got my ass handed to me. Hope it's not because of my wheel. Still getting used to it. Forza 2 I was invincible with the wheel compared to my friends but they are raping me now.

I hope I can compete as I hate playing racing games with pad. The great thing about forza was that could be as fast with both.

Got this waiting at home, looking forward to playing it.

Slightly annoyed nobody seems to release demo's on to the marketplace any more, I had to try it around a friends house to see what it was like!

Yeah I'd of been straight on it too if it had a demo like the previous versions, but like you I'm probably going to have a go on it round a mates first eventually.
 
Its quality, just get it. Apart from the slightly annoying Americanism and chatter. Everything else is brilliant.

If any of you fancy a few games add my GT in my sig.
 
Played it last night, it's really very good, love the fact its more rally focussed this time around.

Car set up seems to play a much bigger role this time around. For example with default setup I'd be a couple of seconds off the lead (difficulty 5/6) but with a little tweaking (usually shorter gear ratio and less down force) I can get number one spot.

Only annoying thing is the inane American chatter, but it's not a game breaker.
 
Just bought this game and really enjoying it!

The overall feel of the game is MUCH better than previous games imo. The have a lot more feel to them and are much more manageable. The previous ones felt like the cars were constantly driving on ice whereas they have sorted the cars out here.

Graphically it is awesome, sounds are spot on. Gymkhana mode is awesome fun! The damage etc is cracking... burst a few tyres whilst doing this mode too!

Well worth the money imo. Awesome game. Looking forward to getting Gymkhana free roam!
 
Dirt 2 did not feel like you were driving on ice it was very good! Dirt however was a pos.
 
Dirt 1 was pretty awful driving wise, dirt 2 imo wasn't a great improvement (with regards to handling), still felt very twitchy... This one, they have got spot on.

I have to disagree.

Dirt 2 was a vast improvement, however, I cannot comment on the difference between 2 and 3 driving model as I haven't played Dirt 2 in a while.

I love the ability to upload to youtube in Dirt3 but 30 seconds just isn't long enough!

Fair enough! I haven't played the older Dirt games in a while either tbh, but from memory they weren't great.

Yea, it's a shame they didn't make it a bit longer... had some awesome replays! Feels very satisfying to get a good run on the Gymkhana mode's. I find that there isn't really a need to use the brakes at all, just careful throttle management and you can get some awesome looks slides on the go.

Not had a chance to start the Story mode yet, but looking forward to starting tonight and unlocking free roam Gymkhana!
 
Finished all 4 seasons over the weekend and really enjoyed it. One think I love about dirt 3 is there is no long 20 laps races. Much better than dirt 2.
 
^^ Nice one! Quick question for you. Do you unlock several different arena's throughout the seasons for Gymkhana? What else do you unlock on season completion too?

It's amazing the detail games go in to for replay's, like tires deforming etc. Good video!
