Far Cry 3 Thread

on their forum it sais that this game is 10 times larger than the 2nd, but wasn't that game too big and boring already !

this game looks like the 1st, which should be a good thing, but the guns look a bit old fashioned, especially the AK 47.... boring or what !

Far Cry 2 was only boring, because it took so long to get anywhere!

A big game world != a boring game.
 
Loved the first, didn't play second (looks like a good thing judging from feedback on this thread) won't bother with third. Seems like they are trying to get nostalgia from the fans by returning to the first games environment.

You should try FC2, seems it's a very marmite game. Personally I loved it, the free roaming around the countryside was immense and sneaking up on checkpoints and dispatching the majority of enemies stealthily was much more satisfying then just speeding up to them in a jeep and fighting like a demented rambo (although some of the time that's fun but you get more from the game if you mix it up a bit).

With the vast array of weaponary at your disposal you could take out checkpoints and complete missions in various ways, a visually stunning game too. It can be bought very cheap now so worth a punt as you may end up really enjoying it.
 
The best thing about Far Cry 2 is the world. They did a FANTASTIC job of it. Just a shame there's so little to do. But I suppose it is the middle of Africa!

I really do not get some people, Far Cry 2 was a brilliant game, completely ruined by the devs complete disinterest in mod tools, and it was abandonded about a week after it came out, this is pretty much inline with all other Ubisoft PC titles, then you look at the way ubisoft have treated their from dust customers, lying about DRM implementation...

And yes STILL people are happy to give them their money, what is it going to take for people to stop buying from these companies?
 
Farcry 3 sucked at Rezzed I played it! and Ubisoft gave the typical middle finger to the pc crowd, not only was it only console setup, Ie retarded xbox controls PRESS X to do this and Y to do that, when they allowed a person to use the keyboard they didn't know what buttons did what and how to remap.

The fov was also very low - console and not just that killing people in the head with an arrow in the face didn't work, they just flinched back with damage!.

Not impressed by what I played!

hang around no, the controls sucked yes but not the game.... the game might still be brilliant because it deffo looks great from the vids.

all Ubisoft games are bust at the time of release, just look at FUTURE SOLDIER, the original FAR CRY was as bad as this too.

i cant wait for FAR CRY 3 but i'll never buy it when it comes out, always wait 3 weeks, because it's bound to have bugs, only a fool will buy FAR CRY 3 when it comes out and then moan that it doesn't work.

i'm waiting another month before i download FUTURE SOLDIER, no point bothering now, because the bugs will drive me crazy, once these are fixed it'll be a good game

yes but the 1st game was brilliant, so this is a good idea, this 3rd game is everything that that the 1st Crysis wasn't..... i.e no stupid aliens in the last 1/3rd

I played it at Rezzed, you just watched the vids

I even saw the UNSKIPPABLE intro sequence with large breasts ;)
 
FAR CRY 3 is massive, and i've been on their forum many time, so you can bet your last dollar that parts of the game will deffo be boring, just like Borderlands, FALLOUT 3 etc, you'll get loads of really Krap side missions to do, you're bound to, just dont do them because they really drag on!

buggy pile of junk ?...... deffo :D just dont buy it on release date, wait 3 weeks.

it doesn't matter which studio makes UBI games, they are all buggy.... only the FEAR games/ Borderlands were bug free.

Fallout 3 was buggy as hell too and Bathsheda never bothered to patch it, we complained like crazy, at least UBI fix theirs !

i only ever play shooters so i never buy other games.... but saying that Deus Ex runs very well indeed, it's just a shame you dont get enough ammo, plus it's too bloody complicated storywise, i'd rather play Seriuos Sam 3.... lol

Sorry but I switched off the minute I hit "retarded xbox controls". There is nothing wrong with console joypads. If you can't use them accurately then the problem lies with you I'm afraid.

It also makes perfect sense for an show where countless numbers of people demo the game to use the xbox controller. It is immediately pick up and play.
