Is it me or are all case atm BORING!?!?

The Corsair 600T white edition is nice. Not too aggressive to the eyes, clean and fairly spacious.

How are the TJ07 and Elysium loads better then the Obsidian. If you mean by looks which is what this thread is about (since the OP asked if all cases are boring looking today), yeah the TJ07 I think most people will say looks very nice but costs a lot more then the Obsidian too. The Elysium on the other hand is just plain ugly and not in the same league looks wise as the TJ07 or 650D. While the Caselabs you have just looks like a boring cube. If you are talking about cooling then that's a different discussion and I have no reason to doubt what Tom Logan said about how much better contructed the Caselabs case is in comparison to Mountainmods. Got any pics of it then ?

You can get more in an elysium or tj o7 than you can in an obsidian, obsidian is triple and dual rad without mods(even putting a dual in the obsidian you need to mod it slightly down the bottom front)the obsidian is not a true enthusiasts case as a rule of thumb for me is a dual rad per-component ie:2 gpu's=quad rad.

The tj07 you can get a quad and triple in the bottom with no modding and a triple in the top,the elysium you can get quad in top, triple front, dual bottom, maybe a triple in bottom(psu could be a problem)still beats the obsidian for performance.
Looks dont bother me,its what it can do performance wise, the tj07 costs aboout 30-40 quid more than the obsidian, not a lot more is it...really...yes i have pics, ill post them later;)

Watercooling is niche, its not about how much you can fit in a case its about looks. I dont like these crappy cases with massive windows and loads of stupidly bright LEDs, fan holes, etc..

The Obsidian is the perfect case.

As technology moves forward and hardware is getting bigger and bigger, things are getting hotter and hotter, more cooling is going to be needed, even dual psu case's are starting to appear more frequently, spend money now, save money further down the line, the obsidian is an ok case but for performance and space there are many cases than pawn it bigtime, its not a true enthusiasts case.:D

oh really?

i thought 28nm gpu and 22nm cpu means they will run cooler, quieter and will need less power.

If looks don't bother you, then why post in this thread.

The title is 'Is it me or are all case atm BORING!?!?' I think the latest Raven RV03 is not boring looking but not my cup of tea. I prefer the looks of the Obsidian and Lian Li cases. Nice clean lines. And I generally dislike windows and any form of bling.

Being a true enthusiast's case, I believe, doesn't mean the case has to have the ability to fit dual psu's, x amount of rads or by default watercooling you know. Lots of people still aircool or use all in one watercooling solutions in cases like FT02,RV02/03, HAF-X, and they are considered to be enthusiast cases. Maybe you don't consider them so, but the companies manufacturing them and their customers do. The Caselabs case you have is obviously in the niche end of the market and for people that are even more enthusiastic about watercooling. But as many have said a Corsair 700D should be sufficient for most. Seeing as technology moves on things are getting cooler or at least more efficient going by the latest round of gpu's due, the latest cpu's, and the latest psu's. Things are not running hotter and requiring more and more space and cooling as you suggest, unless of course you are running triple/quad video cards. But all this is off topic.

Its about looks you say?Watercooling is about performance not looks, have you ever used custom water?Im not talking about those plastic water coolers by corsair either .....

Thats what you believe, each to there own.i run an Sr2 and theres no way it would work in an obsidian yet its supposed to be the best case?LoL The elysium pawns it and its £100 cheaper.

As for the title of the thread dont matter,i been reading many threads and they all go off topic, tbh cant see myself being around here long, dont really like it here if you know what i mean, thats why i dont post much here.

Load - Lots of people on these forums have done custom water. Looks at some of the build logs. I think you took 1LANCS comment out of context. When he said it's about looks and not about how much you fit in a case or watercooling (which you brought up) I think he was talking about what the nature of this thread was about. It's about looks. So can we please stop talking about watercooling or start another thread.

Who said the obsidian was the best case ? Very few cases can fit an SR2 but it doesn't mean they are not enthusiast cases does it. I own a Lian Li 2120X which also fits an SR2 and is a high end case and definitely looks miles better then that ugly Elysium regardless of cost. However I still think the Obsidian (which I also own) looks better then the Lian Li does. In fact I would say the Lian Li looks a little fridge like and boring. Does this mean the Obsidian is a better case. Not neccessarily. But looks wise to me it is. That's what this thread is about. About whether people think cases all look boring. But you seem to be trying to derail this thread, constantly talking about watercooling and about what cases own other cases because they fit more rads. Why don't you start a watercooling/case thread if your that determined.

How does a case "pawn" a case? Genuine question, as I don't have a clue what you mean.

As for your comment that you don't like it here because all the threads go "off topic", that made me chuckle.

Back on topic though. OP. It's you. :p :D

As technology moves forward and hardware is getting bigger and bigger, things are getting hotter and hotter, more cooling is going to be needed

Obviously shown you know nothing of technology.

Moore's law

My rough version: Every 18 months technology will get twice as fast, twice as small or twice as cheap.

Nearly 2 years from now you will get a GTX 590 for like £200, or get one half the size, or there will be 6GB GPU's available.

In my opinion i dont even think it will be that long.

One thing is for sure, you will have to buy a boring, black case to put it in ;)
