MSI Z68 GD65 USB Problems

I'm currently having problems with all my usb ports on this board. Everything I plug in is not recognised in device managed and comes up with the caution symbol. The only exception is my wireless adaptor which has a driver installed with it. It's as if windows wants me to install a driver for everything including memory sticks.

Any advice?

you havent done the classic mistake of forgetting to install the motherboard drivers have you?

Nope theyre installed, as well as seperate USB 3 ones too

does the mouse work in the click bios?

It didnt at first it went crazy, updated bios and it works fine now

have you plugged anything into the bottom PCIe x16 slot?

that often shares PCIe lanes with the USB3 ports

Yeah my GTX 460 is in there but this is happening with USB 2 ports also

Its nothing to do with that at all.

Nope I built it yesterday but temps were high so I reseated the cooler and done a fresh install so I could set the ssd and hard drive properly in the registry. The usb ports were working first time I think

It was only simple things like changing file paths for the accounts so I doubt its that

my bad, i thought the GD65 was one of those with 3 PCIe X16 slots

Apart from starting a new install.

you can try uninstalling all the USB devices/controllers in Device manager, then plugging back in so it recognizes new hardware.

Now its blue screening on the opening windows screen. Could this be the agility 3 problem too?

It wont boot past that now so im going to reflash the bois and if that doesnt work ill do a fresh install of windows
