Hello there,

Im in the process of saving for a new tower, my budget will be £1000-£1500 (absolute max... altho i can be easily persuaded lol).

I already have a monitor (Acer G24 resolution of 1920 x 1200 which i will be using temporary basis until i get my hands on a 3D monitor), mouse (Razer Lachesis), keyboard (Razer Tarantula), speakers (Logitech Z-something 2.1 effort), as for OS I will be going for W7 Home Premium.

My current spec is in my sig and it sounds like a hoover.

I will be using the system for gaming (MW3, BF3 and Shogun 2 all on Max settings) as well as a htpc to replace my WD media player to avoid the (occasional) unsupported x264 encodes.

It would be nice to be able to have a film playing on my samsung whilst I use to PC for other things like web browsing etc and gaming if possible.

In addition to being linked up to my G24 the system will be connected to my 1080p Samsung 32" LCD and Samsung 5.1 (HT-C5500) for film watching. Gaming will be through a pair of headphones (currently Sennheiser PC350s but by christmas Turtle Beech X41s or equivalent).

What I am after from this system...

i7 2600k - I know this is overkill but i mainly want it for bragging rights, unless the price difference means having a lower performance graphics card. Going for the retail version for the longer warranty. I also intend on overclocking the cpu.

Corsair H80 or similar as they make the inside of the case look cleaner, tidier and less cluttered.

A BluRay RW.

SSD for OS and a 2TB storage drive.

The case needs to be as quiet as possible and be incredibly neat and tidy (I will be braiding / buying braided extension cables to make sure the cable management looks immaculate and OCD like, i hate clutter and mess).
The 3 i am considering are:
1 - Fractal R3 Arctic White
Likes:
+ amount of sound dampening.
+ quantity of fans that can be added.
+ the overall sleek, unobtrusive design.
Dislikes:
- No usb 3.0.
- No removable HDD cage to make it look tidier as i will only be using 2, not 8.
2 - Cooler Master Silencio
Likes:
+ USB 3.0 on I/O Port.
+ SD Card reader on I/O Port.
+ Removable HDD Cage
+ Hotswap slot
Dislikes:
- No top sound dampening unlike R3
- No rubber grommets on cable management holes
3 - Corsair 600T
Likes:
+ Cable management potential is amaaazing, lots of cut outs, all cables can be hidden.
+ Built in fan controller.
Dislikes:
- Mesh front.
- Mesh roof.
- No sound dampening, altho this Foam silencing kit exists but im skeptical as to how effective it will be as the front and top of the case are mesh.

If i could combine 1, 2 and 3 together that would be amazing and the perfect case. If I have overlooked any cases please suggest them :)

I know this post is slightly lengthy and pretty damn specific but I want this system to be perfect for me and last me a while and maybe a year or so down the line throw in another graphics card for SLI/CF.

Thank you very much for reading and I look forward to your suggestions.

Thanks again...

Adam

P.S If possible colour coded components (no red) would be nice :-) ha

That does everything you want, and has a lot of "Blue" in it.

Its also possible to get Home edition with a 1TB drive if you want more - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SW-000-OP

Heres a review of the PSU - http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=167

Heres a i5 2500K vs i7 2600K comparison - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/288?vs=287

surprised you didnt go for the twin frozr version of the 570 stulid, especially after the OP complained about his old rig sounding like a hoover
*edit*
also, 2 128GB SSD's?
if the OP wants 256GB he should get the 256GB version. if he wants a stupidly fast SSD he should get the OCZ revodrive

Not even in stock.

should be soon though. it also hasnt stopped you from recommending it to countless other people.

Well you did try to put a HPTX motherboard in to a case that wouldn't take it.
oh for goodness sake, if it was for a build that mattered i would have checked, but it was a joke build so i really couldnt be bothered. you really are being pathetic now stulid

(the PCIe cards probably wouldnt have all fitted either, but i couldnt be bothered checking those either on that build because it really didnt matter)

Easy to say that now.
yep, it was also very easy to say that then as well, which i think you'll find i did. i said it was just all the most expensive things put together that would probably work together. o i was checking for simple stuff like not putting in 4 590's, but i wasnt bothering to check if the graphics card was too long for the case or stuff like that

Getting a bit touchy now? you should relax more.
as soon as you stop treating me like a 5 yr old i will stop being touchy. patronising me is becoming a habit of yours that i would rather you stopped

Oh I dont do that. I pick on any mistake from anyone (more so when its other peoples hard earned money being spent), even when Spydell was trying to rip on your sig I jumped in to shut him up.

But he never replied back.

thanks stulid :-)

what are your thoughts on the asrock extreme 4 gen 3 mobo?

what spec would you recommend then reaper? anything totally different?

well, perhaps some smilies to say when your joking would come in handy, because going over a couple of threads where your comments have seemed patronising its entirely possible that you were joking, but just looked patronising to me because you cant tell tone of voice through text

what did spydell not like about my sig?
if its the case, or lack of overclock then he can mock it all he wants. the case is rubbish, and i ought to have overclocked this thing a month ago

Noted.

As for Spydell - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18308469&page=2&highlight=username_Spydell

i'd recommend stulids edited spec, but with the twin frozr version of the 570.

depending on what its like noise wise i'd also recommend the thermalright silver arrow over the H80. i think its quieter but i'm very happy to be proved wrong

A few things,

The Crucial range of SSD's seem to be the most problem free along with Intel.

1866mhz RAM isnt needed, all the ram guides for sandybridge show and conclude that 1600mhz is the sweat spot.
