Hey,

I just had some enquiries regarding the "Buy now pay in 6/12 months" finace option.

Can you pay as much as you like off it, whenever? It's not a "Pay a fixed amount each month" or somthing is it? I know you pay 10% now and then you pay in 12 months but I should be able to pay long before 12 months - I'm just getting the finance to give some breathing space. So Can I pay amounts off it whenever I like?

Also, what paperwork do they send/information do they request?

Cheers

I have used them and i have till around the end of November to settle the balance of around £1100 i think, as long as u pay it off in full by the date given it's interest free except for a small administration fee of around £20 i think, if u don't pay it off by the date given u are automatically entered into the finance option and will be under i think a 3 year contract and will pay quite a lot of interest.
U will need to send some pay slips also but u will get an email asking for this if neccesary.

But can you pay variable amounts off the outstanding balance whenever you like? I get paid weekly you see.

Not sure but i don't see why not, u could always just put the amout u want to pay off each week into another bank account and just save it up till u have the full amount and pay it in a single payment, this way u will be getting interest on your money too however small that may be lol.

Used them years ago, about maybe 6 years, on a 12 month plan. Payed the minimum every month till the twelfth month where i payed off the balance. There was an admin fee as mentioned in the posts above. No complaints at all from. Hope my 2 cents helped.

hey

quick question looking at puting my computer over 6 months HP.But when i click on collect from store the finance option goes on the screen any ideas why this is or do have to get this delivered ?

i only live 10 mins from overclockers so i would rather save 15 quid and go get it lol

It's probably just an online delivery option, as for saving up first, sometimes it is worth going down the "buy now pay later" route due to pricing and availability, i would recomend buying cash but for ppl that just don't quite have enough at the time and have job stability then these options are a good way to get what u want when u want it.

I've been wondering if anyone else has had any bad luck with trying to get finance on here... I was rejected for whatever reason (I done my own credit check and so on and all returned good) and have since bene in touch for them to post me out some details regarding why I was declined but I can only assume its cos im only 19 and dont have much credit other than phone and internet bill and thats the reason I was trying to get it lol to beter my credit whilst getting things I will need/use

Probably appeal it or somethin once I hear back but I did find it a bit strange.... anyone else been rejected ?

Not used them but don't think you are able to appeal a credit search result? Different matter maybe if there is someone on your credit file that is incorrect though.

You can appeal against being reffused credit and then you can get approved if your case for is good enough, one of my m8's done it not too long ago and then got what he wanted that way.

I was sort of baffled especially when I found out my credit rating was fine and so on, mind you its easy to be reffused when you fill out the application wrong somewhere (i could have done this) but anyways still waiting on them replying with the info, wonder what the excuse will be =P

You can only get a credit history by borrowing money and then paying in back (or not, if you want a bad credit history). Just not having any bad debts isn’t enough.

If you’re not getting credit when you really think you should then previous occupants at your address could be the problem.

Unfortunately this refusal of credit will probably reduce your credit score unless it was a mistake and you can get it purged.

Getting a credit card and using it in a responsible manner for a while should help with your credit score.

If its a credit card they dont have issue numbers, only your VISA debit card is likely to have one

If you do not have an issue number on your card just leave the box empty. :)

As for the payments, it has to be paid back in one lump sum as far as I am aware, if you want to find out more details and specific details this is their website and you can contact them through there or via phone. :)

i am using a visa debit card. But when i put my cards details on the (add) a card section it just says visa. is this right or should it be visa debit ?

Depends on the card you are using, if it is a VISA Debit card that you are using then I would recommend selecting the Debit option just to make sure.

well just processed my application and i have been declined umm rather interesting as i own a credit card and never missed a payment.well i wont be applying again ... ok so what happins next then ? it directed me back to overclockers and it just showed me "you have been declined" and thats it. How to i get my money back i have just paid now ?

AFAIK, most credit companies put a hold on the deposit (they don't actually take it) until the finance has been passed.
At worst you should get it back within around three days .
