I've decided to go with building my own instead of pre-built.

Question is as the title states, which do you think is better?

The general spec is a MSI P67-GD53, I5 2500k 3.3, and a MSI 570GTX Ti twin FrozR II.

I've seen the Video for installing a H60 and seems simple enough so ease of installation etc isn't a factor.

Oh and the case is going to be a CM 690 II lite.

Aside from which is the better cooler, I notice Corsair recommend the 120mm fan to push air into the case instead of the standard exhaust. Well the case as standard only comes with one more additional fan on the front and this also puts air into the case not out.

So the question is, would I need a top/side exhaust 120mm fan in addition?

Thanks!

Ross

You would need an additional 120mm fan in the top of the case to exhaust the hot air.

The Gelid will be fine for overclock of around 4.5-4.7GHz, but if you plan on going further than that, I would go for the H60.

I've got the exact same spec and i'm about to get the tranquillo rev.2

It will be quieter than the h60 (or so i'm led to believe) and less than half the price.

Ok cool thanks Jordan, to begin with I'll keep it stock 3.3 with a view to overclock, max to 4.5 I think.

Thanks Kingbal, I wasn't sure on noise, heard mixed reviews on both..the price of the Tranquillo is very good though.

Think I'll get the Tranquillo and can always upgrade later.

Cheers :)

Yeh i'm in the same boat; i've got a half-hearted desire to overclock but i'm not really sure why... everything seems to run fine at stock.

*waits for somebody to highlight the benefits of overclocking cpu :)

so theres not much point then... and to think they made an entire forum based on this pointless egotistical excercise.

Maybe the blue and red logo should be changed for something more appropriate:D

Faster video encoding, faster photo editing for CPU intensive tasks etc etc
