Hi guys.

Just installed the soundcard, installed the drivers etc. All seems well.

But how do I change the settings correctly to make use of dolby headphone for in games.

For example, with Battlefield Bad Company 2.
Do i set the sound System type, in the in game settings to "Home Cinema?"

And then in the Xonar DG panel.
Change the output channels to 2 or 4, 6 or 8?
Analog out to headphone.

And turn on Dolby headphone?

Many thanks all

Dolby Headphone on whatever setting you find best (1, 2 or 3), channels set to 6, virtual surround sound enabled... I think anyway, my Xonar panel was corrupted due to a crash so I can't check if there was anything else!

This + Sample Rate to 96KHz, Exciter Mode in HP Advance Setting (that's the integrated amp setting) and you might want to disable GX Mode if you experience any problems in games.

I set mine to 8 channels as using headphones, 44.1KHz (think that is the bitrate used in games), Dolby headphone and 7.1 Virtual speaker shifter and bumped the bass up on the EQ.

I set HP mode to match the impedance of my headphones which was pro-gaming mode. (I assume this still makes use of the amp).

For BC2 I set it to war tapes as that gives a much more realised battlefield sound in my opinion.

Not sure of the above is optimal so any feedback would be appreciated if there is a way to improve on my setup.
