A year away from the 360, what have i missed?

I've recently got my old 360 back off of a mate, very kindly he gave me a handful of games along with it that he had picked up over the course of the year that he had it for.

Unfortunately i've already played all of the games he gave me on other platforms, however that means i can trade them in for something else. What has come out in the past year that i should get? I heard Alan Wake was a bit of a mixed bag, is this true or is it still worth getting?

Needs to be exclusive as i've played every multiplatform game that interests me on other platforms.

I'm not a fan of either Halo 2 or 3, i pretty much gave up on the franchise after that. Does Reach offer a superior experience to the two aforementioned predecessors?

I loved the original Halo, so if it's more like that then i'm very much interested.

Oh, while i remember, i can't justify a Gold sub btw, so no online-only games or games that 'need online to be good'. Ta

okaaay lol reaches single player does improve on Halo 3's but I would say that online is half the fun with reach so maybe not for you - how about Alan Wake?

Reach's single player is way more fun than Halo2/3/ODST.

Alan Wake is amazing, well worth getting.
