Hi guys, I recently had my iPhone 4 unlocked by Vodafone. However when I tested it with my sister's O2 sim card it just said "No Sim Card Inserted".

Im now not sure whether it is unlocked or not which im hoping you can help me with. Do I have to connect the phone to iTunes to enable the O2 card or something? And if I do will that mean I have to do it every time i switch sim cards?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

When my iPhone 3GS was unlocked by O2, I just had to insert my new network provider's SIM into the phone and connect the phone to iTunes. It seems as though the phone is reactivated with the new SIM but the unlock is not 'permanent', i.e. you have to reconnect to iTunes everytime you put in a new SIM, although I don't know what will happen with iOS 5.
