unless you get the cancellation email don't give up hope just yet. but don't get you're hopes up either as i believe most of HP's remaining stock is being shipped to the US.

as far as future chances go...everywhere (apart from Argos) has dropped their price & sold out now but a few of them are trying to get more stock in from HP. However, as mentioned earlier i believe HP has shipped it's remaining stock to the US as they indicated a need for it before UK retail outlets so don't get you're hopes up on that one either!

The general consensus is that Argos will drop their prices tomorrow (today ;) ) AM - currently their website says that they're sold out - so unless they've got a warehouse full of them even that is unlikely.

Ive still got my fingers crossed for amazon but looking from the times of other peoples orders I will have to be extremely lucky to get my hands on one, guess ill just have to wait and see if any more come in stock at places. Gutted i didn't find out about this earlier looks like a good piece of kit and for that price its a steal! thanks for replying :)

That's okay, not sure whether you've seen this quote earlier in the thread but should fill you with a bit more confidence if they can secure some extra stock (look's kinda promising):

I've just got off the phone to Amazon. You can ring them yourselves and they will offer the same information.

Last night, they had a small stock which some few people managed to receive. The people with "no delivery estimate" have NO stock allocated to their order. We have merely preordered the product for when it becomes available next. She also confirmed however, that Amazon are in communication with HP and their suppliers to receive more stock. "If or when new stock becomes available, customers who ordered the item last night but are showing "no delivery estimate" are first priority." The next shipment of items will be reserved for those people like ourselves if they can get stock at all.

What time did your confirmation email arrive? Hopefully they'll acquire some stock from HP soon.

I hope so, got back in last night at 12:05 thought i'd go make myself some food thinking that there would be nothing happening during the night, checked the thread at around 12:45 and saw "RAINFOREST GO GO GO" and got my order in, got confirmation through few minutes later. That sandwich potential cost me a touchpad! i've got an order with CPW as well, same status as most, got the delay email etc..which do you think is more likely to happen? amazon or cpw?

Well the price drop on Amazon was reported at about 2 minutes past midnight on here, and i got my confirmation e-mail at 12 minutes past. I'm thinking there were probably hundreds of orders in that 10 minute period, but i imagine HP will be able to provide that much stock at least.

Mine was 4 minutes past and I've not had any more details.

Thank you for placing an order recently with Carphonewarehouse.com. Unfortunately, on this occasion we have been unable to continue with your request for a purchase and the order has now been cancelled. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

I'm really confused trying to make sense of this CPW situation; there is a user on HUKD called 'simplex' who claims to be an employee of CPW and has been told that there an additional 900 units unsold - this seems completely bizarre but apparently once the backlog of orders gets sorted out tomorrow these additional units will go on-sale.

If this is true then why are people receiving cancellation emails if there is stock available? I call bull on the 900 additional units but hope backorders get sorted tomorrow! probably time for me to turn in, night guys and good luck tomorrow if you're still Touchpad-less!
