THink the manufacturing costs alone are ~$300 and $320 each so not on your nelly...

Yep, they're making a substantial loss on every unit sold.

Must be a bit depressing for the HP employees who worked on the hardware to see it being sold off so cheap, when they could have easily been cleared at a higher price.
