Obviously its expensive for the people getting married, but it also costs a fair whack for the guests. I realised this last year when I had four to go to. All involved overnight stays in quite expensive hotels.
I've not been to as many as 29, but being in my late 20's they are certainly racking up. 6 that I can think of (including my own) in the past 3 years, at least another 3 in the next 12/18 months.
I try to give Christenings a miss because they are pointless garbage.
That's quite a few weddings! Been to 5 so far this year myself, another on Friday and one more that I know of before the end of the year. After that though I don't think we will have any for a while!
I've been to something like 20 over the last year.... I am a wedding photographer though.
For friends/family I've only been to a few in my life but I am a bit of a loner. Friends of mine who have been to a lot of weddings find it's costing them a fortune, I guess that's the problem with being around 30 for your wallet, everyone is getting hitched.
Had one this month and made sure I had a great time (GF's cousin), plenty of talking points, namely dancing with the GF's mother to Sir Mix-a-lot - I like big butts
An usher at the weekend for my cousin and possibly at our neighbours the weekend after.
the wedding in poland was fantastic and well worth it, the girls were very pretty and my wife was at home i was a good boy but over there the girls come over and ask for a dance and its hard to say no!
