JJ ABRAMS SUPER 8 Official movie Thead

Not particularly. I thought it was pretty crap .

I think it really depends on whether you are "into" these types of movies.

Myself, I never liked ET, as a child or as an adult. It bored me to death and to this day I cannot understand what people liked about it.

However, as is evident from the above posts, if you are in "into" these types of movies, then I think you will love it.

Oh I am into similar movies, and was as a child. I just didn't think much to it. The pacing, the visual effects, and most of all the story. I was disappointing.

One question for people who have seen this,

Do you get to see the monster/what ever it is? is it expalined where it comes from?

Or is it like Cloverfield and Lost were you are left guessing and only seeing flinting glimpses of the monster?

For most of the film you just catch glimpses, but by the end you see the whole thing in detail. Where it came from is also explained.

Thankyou,

That alone was what I need to go and watch it, if it was like Cloverfield I would have waited till disk release.

If needing to see a monster is your criteria for going to see it, I wouldn't bother as it's not that kind of film.

I thought the film was brilliant. It was the characters and relationships of the kids that made it great though. The monster bits were pretty cool but not what made it such an enjoyable film. It's been mentioned previously that the film has not been marketed to the right audience and I think that's true but if you're just after a monster flick I would save your cash.

Im with you on this one bledd.

Then again, considering this forum loved the film Sucker punch, when everyone I have spoke to in real life said it was a load of **** (myself and g/f included, we would have walked out, but cba to get up, and I still had popcorn left!) its hardly surprising they hated this, and anyother watchable movie.

100% agree with you here.

Couldn't stand Wanted, yet it was seemingly loved by the masses

This movie had so much hype just because they didnt leak or show anything in the trailers to what it was all really about.

Its a shame it didnt deliver in the same way and i think other movies should take note of not showing and spoiling so much in trailers these days.

I've watched so many new trailers which just ruin the main plot or give away too much

Wish I'd read more about this before seeing it, based on the Trailer I was a expecting a good monster movie not a kids movie/variation of the goonies :(
