Do I play Diablo 2?

I've really tried to get into D2 several times, but I couldnt because of how bad it looks now.

I'd rather play Sacred 1 / 2 instead because they are more up to date.

Diablo 2 looks horrendous now and the technical limitations are just too much. You're stuck at 800x600 res for example. Not the greatest if you game on a 1080p monster screen.

I recommend Torchlight - it's made by former Blizzard North employees (who made Diablo 2) and considered the series' torch bearer until D3 arrives.

I am almost about to complete the first game again, then I am playing through the expansion, then D2, and D2+Exp...then D3...when it comes...

Can't believe people are going on about the graphics, in the end the gameplay is so many times better than every other game in this genre.

I only really enjoyed the first and fifth act of this game. The others were so bland and uninspiring to look at.

I have played Diablo II more than any other game in my life. It is simply brilliant and I love it intensely.

I've never played it before but thought I'd just give it a try until D3 comes out to actually play through some of the lore that I had just been watching youtube videos about.

I thought I'll just play the first few quests in act 1 to get myself prepared for D3 and now I'm on act 3 and can't stop playing it. This is despite the very old graphics and what I see as limitations of the skill system.
