Counter Strike: Source night!

In regards to the server, I think you'd benefit from the following modifications:
  • Introduce voting routines such as votemap, rockthevote and maybe even votekick. Although the latter can be ignored if sufficient number of administrators are appointed to the server.
  • Remove unpopular maps during the infancy of the server (i.e. de_tides, cs_compound), as it's always a struggle to fill the server when those maps are in rotation. There's no reason why they shouldn't be available to be voted in though. I certainly prefer a bit of variety with my maps (i.e. full rotation), so please don't take this as a request to limit the server to dust2/office. But I think we need to be realistic and understand which maps will attract people to play. Unfortunately most people don't want to play old school maps that I love (i.e. de_foption, de_prodigy, de_storm, de_torn). :( I'd be interested to hear what others think about the current map rotation.
  • Sundance voted for longer map times, which is something I'd agree with. Possibly forcing users to swap sides half way through so that you're not limited to 1 side.
  • Auto Balance teams? Not sure about this one, but I do see a number of rounds where the discrepancy in team numbers makes for a rather unfair game. More often than not that gets addressed after a couple of rounds, but can be mildly irritating at the time. :p

Whatever you decide, just don't put too many mods on. Keep it vanilla as much as possibly, only providing additional functionality for administration where suitable. Keep up the good work. :D

i aint played CSS, only ever played the first CS way back when!! would love to get back into this for the craic
 
So just how badly would I get pwned if I jump on, being that I've never played CS or CS:S? :p

You must have permission to join mate, otherwise the admin will give you a swift ban.

it's been a long time since i tried to get involved in organised gaming, i'm probably twice as old as half the dudes in this thread.

only asked the question so as not to cause offence or break any rules....

now thats out of the way....zefan what's your in game name, cause you know i be coming to stab you in the face lol
 
ok, i can sorta guess that no1 is on at the minute but can anybody tell me how to look for a specific game using the ip addy that 5UB posted in the OP?

and if anyone laughs at me they will be added to the list that includes zefan!!
