I guess the first question is now that I am a member of the gays, what sort of activities do fellow OcUK members get up to so I can fit in?

My trusty Megane has all but bitten the dust after 3.5 years of flawless service, I was and still am gutted. However I can't let such things get in the way so it is time to move on. I had no idea what I wanted car wise and after spotting a '98 MX-5 up for sale locally I had my heart set on one. It looked tidy when driving past but upon closer inspection the bodywork was pretty tatty & having "only" 37,000 miles on the clock didn't justify the £1500 asking price.

So a quick hop on Autotrader & I am now the proud owner of my own MX-5 :D 1994 in Mariner Blue which has been extremely well looked after, new hood 2ish years ago and recent undersealing & body work so only this tiniest bit of rust which was a surprise.

The only issues I can see are a couple of stone chips in the window & the fact I have to put the key in the door to lock it.

De-tango!!

Oh and *Floppy hands* HI THERE!! ;)

Why hello sailor!

No plans to de-tango it, quite like it the way it is. The only real plans are possibly replace the exhaust with something slightly more fruity and some interior bits & bobs.

Nice colour, gayish car, nice purchase. :D

Enjoy. :)

I personally think its one of the best colours, but then again I also have a very yellow Megane so I seem to be drawn to fairly bright colours. Its not a car I had ever really considered but after kicking my cheating wench out I realised I am still young & need some fun back in my life.

A lot of MX-5 OC members (inc. myself) have installed this remote central locking kit. About a days work, the hardest bits is threading all the wires :).

EDIT: Looks like it's had new sill end plates at some point which is a good sign it's been cared for.

I find this topic offensive.

Nothing a good hug wont fix, now come here you! :p

Oh & Howard I have done as you suggested & ripped off the center of the wheel to reveal the MOMO goodness. I don't think it has ever been removed.

I spotted your car woes on the book of faces. New one looks great, I'll keep an eye out for it!

There was a cracking white one for sale in Norwich a while back but I did my usual trick of letting a cracking buy slip away in the name of taking the sensible approach of sticking with one car!
