hi. Just need to draw a basic floor plan with measurements on and print out.

What is the easiest way.

Don't need 3d or modelling/ rendering or any of that fancy stuff.

Just needing to measure a room, print it out with where doors, windows etc are with the measurements alongside it.

thanks

i have just downloaded that and had a go, far to complicated for me or so it seems.

I literally want a rectangle with 3 doors and a window on it.

I just couldn't work sketchup out. Maybe it is too advanced for my little brain this morning.

If you've got an iPhone MagicPlan is pretty good.

Don't think it's free but it can't be more than £2.

Scan it and email me it (in trust) I'll draw it in autocad this afternoon. Will take 5 mins.

ended up using Ikea room planner. did what I needed.

many thanks people. Will have a look at sketchup at a later date.

Google sketchup I am sure is good. But seems complicated for drawing straight lines with 3 doors in it and measurements.

Was going to offer same.

You could download draftsite, thats a free cad tool. Made by dassault systems and almost identical to previous releases of autocad.

Google Sketchup really isn't that user friendly. I used Autosketch for this kind of thing years ago, much simpler. It's expensive but I'm pretty sure there is a free trial.

Sketchup is a fantastic design tool imho. I use the pro version now way more than 3DMax, its GUI is so user friendly its unreal and many of the other big players could learn a thing or two from it.
