How much of your life is spent just doing maintenance of some sort or another? Car maintenance, house maintenance, animal maintenance, garden maintenance, computer maintenance. I'd say at least 1/4 if you include all the time researching, pondering and buying maintenance stuff. Should I buy the .18 or the .20 strimmer cord ? Round of hexagonal? Green or orange? 30' or 50'??

Brush teeth

Attempt to do laundry

This is supposed to be the 21st century why an I still wasting time on maintenance? Come on science... DO SOMETHING.

lolKwerk.

My neighbor pays close to $1k a month for lawn mowing, trimming and all that from a pro service. **** that.

This is what I'm talking about, we need more stuff like this concept mower:

No more fuel filters, oil changes and all that. Have non-serviceable lubrication, some kind of self-sharpening blades (or LASER blades!!). Change the battery every 10 years. oh yeah and it's nearly silent.

2011 and we are still brushing our teeth like 100 years ago? Where are the nano-bot teeth cleaners?? Where are the teleporters?

The amount of housework necessary to keep the place looking like a show-home is crazy. Since becoming a stay-at-home-dad I ahve found this out!

If it's such a big deal, hire a handyman/gardener/maid. That would have most of those covered.

Because everyone has the money these days to just hire somebody to do everything for them.......:confused:

On a different note, it's day to day stuff, just get on with it...

Kwerk = Fail

and what would you be doing if you didn't do this stuff? This is just a 1 day thing, you don't have to do it every day. I enjoy doing things that doesn't involve me sat at my computer all day like most of my work does.

this is the 21st century, you don't need science to invent something you need to use your brain and stop doing as much. shave less frequently, shower less often if you can, don't worry that there is a bit of mess in your house/garden. go outside and trim the hedge/mow the lawn when the sun is shining and then admire it's beaty as it grows into a mess again forgetting it may not appear what society think is perfect. get your haircut a little less often as you know what no one cares that it's 2 weeks longer then normal.

kwerk, you forgot the biggest bit of maintenance we do - sleep

add that to the list and we probably lose about 12 hours of our 24 doing maintenance.

oh, and this has to be done because its a kwerk thread:

I've seen too many sci-fi series/films to be able to trust either of these devices were they to exist.
