I put an ikea unit on ebay this week, an expedit little bookcase,

they are £20 new.

bidding is at £19.11 with 3 days left and 77 watchers... wtf??

That's not what he was suggesting. He means get a friend to put in a ridiculous bid in to ensure he wins it, so he doesn't have to sell it and can relist or go elsewhere.

As for that guy, he deserves jail time just for doing that with 2 accounts from the same IP! He could have at least got his friend to do it from another location or something, at least try to make it look genuine!

Do note though that the article says "While this case was not solely about shill bidding" so isn't exactly applicable in the way you used it.

Do it yourself with another account or get a mate to it is the same thing. I am not saying it isn't a decent idea but I would be careful
