5850 extreme price

well since 1 of my cards has gone **** up and out of warranty i went to buy another 5850 extreme to match the other one but couldnt believe the price it is now,must be selling well for it to be that much now

Ah sorry mate,didnt see you had another 5850,i think with AMD cards you can mix different series cards,though the 6870 will revert and run to the 5850 specs/speed i believe.

Then maybe you can say Xfire with a 5850 and a 5870?,im sure ive read that?

you CAN'T xfire 6xxx with a 5xxx, can do 5850 with a 5870 or a 5970, a 6950 with a 6970 etc but can't mix 5series and 6 series

or sell your 5850 and buy 2 x 6850's, don't they crossfire better anyway? but i may be wrong

i was thinking about this last night j.col,what performance would i get over a single 5850 against a 6950 as might do it ot start me of,as the 6950s would scale better wouldnt they

I would be disappoint if I changed my 5850 for a 6950. Not enough of an upgrade IMO

cracking clock speeds those,im just going to hold onto it now till BF3 comes out and if no good will upgrade then cheers all for the help
