Connecting 3 Monitors to 1 PC

Hi,

I am trying to connect 3 monitors to one pc. This is for creating a Flight Simulator for a school club.

I have tried to find a graphics cards with 3 xfx sockets on but cannot find any.

The graphics card needs to have at least 1GB ram and but only needs to be an average card arounf £130.00 if possible. The only outputs my monitors have are VGA and XFX sockets no HDMI so unless i can get an adapter the HDMI on a VGA is no use to me.

Any help will be appreciated.

I have no idea what you mean by xfx sockets :/

You have d-sub (vga), DVI, HDMI and Display port. Im assuming you want the cockpit streched across the 3 screens. This is done through using an AMD gfx card and the eyefinity feature. For this to work you need a monitor with a display port socket or an adapter.

A 6870 can be pre-ordered in your budget but you will still need a displayport adapter for it to run the three screens in eyefinity.

Hi,

Sorry about the TYPO it was meant to say 'DVI' no XFX socket. The monitors are not setup yet but ideally i would like to plug 3 monitors into 1 VGA to run the simulator.

Can anybody show me what display port i will need as i have never done this before and have no idea which one i should use.

With out wanting to insult the OP it may be wise if he specs the system. If he is unsure on the name of the display sockets there is a chance he may end up ordering a PCI-express gfx card for an AGP mobo!

It comes with 1 DVI, 1 HDMI and 1 Displayport.

That way you can connect your monitors by 2 DVI and 1 VGA.

Well it's an old system but the mobo does take PCI-Express gfx cards. I can't guarantee the system will be compatible though. I've heard of store bought PCs being picky about gfx cards. You may need to google and investigate further before you spend the money.

For eyefinity to work each screen needs to be connected to the gfx card. In your case it will be 2 of the screens to the 2 DVI ports and one will need to be run with a display port adapter.
