Hi all, finally got off my backside and went to look for a new car, this is what I ended up with, its a 54 plate and is in very nice condition with full SSH and only 45000 on the clock.
I went for a good spin in it yesterday and its very pleasing to drive, the power is more than adequate and gives a nice pushback when on full revs, the handling and grip are good though I must say it doesnt feel quite as sharp as my friend's Evo but is more than sufficient on the uk roads and I would probably run out of talent far sooner than this cars limits grip/handling wise. The brembo brakes as expected, are excellent. The gearbox in particular is worth a mention and is one of the first things I noticed on the test drive, it is very tight and notchy and pushes into gear with satisfying results. Also expected was the fuel consumption, its crap when driving hard but reasonable when not. The only thing missing is the ppp but as said earlier, at the minute the power is more than enough.

Once again thanks for the input in the last thread I posted here when I was looking for one, I recieved some good advice in that thread which helped me to choose this.

*Note the estoril blue M3 with CSL alloys in the background, lovely car that and it has being tuned to 400hp apparently*

Not bad VFM. Looks lovely. Does Blob eye Impreza hold it's value a lot better than bug eye? Hawk eye Impreza's can be gotten for remarkably low amounts of dosh these days too!

You won't get a Hawkeye for the OPs 6k budget though, or even the revised 2005 Blob Eye model for that matter.

For his budget, he's got exactly the right car for the money. Looks lovely.

Looks great condition outside. I think that is my fav shape, now the original is looking long in the tooth.

Very nice, it's great to see people buying proper cars :D

What sort of running costs are to expected from these?
