Got a Pot Belly and Love Handles and need to loose them!

Alright guys,

I'm 31 and weigh just over 12 stones. Around 5 11" tall.
Dont really do anything physical. Having got the time to go to the gym due to work.

Got a pot belly and love handles and I want to get rid of them.

Whats the best and quickest way of going about it?

Going to start running on a night and do around 2/3 miles. This will involve jogging and intensity running.

Obviously cut out all the crap and fast food i eat and go easy on the alcohol too. Eat a lot of fruits and greens.

Ideas would be greatly appreciated. Would like to go from 12 stones to around 10.5 stones in 3/6months.
It really is this simple:

3 x a week, before breakfast, 30-40 mins of steady state cardio (some people will say do HIIT but each to their own).
3-4 x a week, after work go to gym and do weights. There is loads of info online for routines etc, stick to compounds.

As for diet, do as you say cut out all the crap, stick to protein + good fats for most of your meals, and carbs for about half of them. Then monitor how your weight changes after a week, 0.75kg-1kg weight loss would be a good target. Then adjust cardio and/or diet accordingly if you are not meeting your target.

Personally, the way I lost 10kg in 8 weeks was doing SS cardio 3xweek before breakfast, weights in gym 4xweek to keep muscle mass, and through carb cycling for diet and adjusting accordingly.
 
A dehydrated Tommy Speers yeah, but within 24 hrs he'll be nearly a stone heavier. GSP on fight night against Jake Shields was 192lbs, he was 170 at the weigh ins 24 hrs before. I could post a pic of GSP at '77kg' but it's deceptive because what you're really looking at is a guy close to 85kg severely dehydrated.

i think anderson silva drops a crazy amount too from his walking weight to his fighting weight, i think he walks around at 225lbs normally when he doesn't have a fight and is just training, his fight weight is 185lbs

thats 40lbs he cuts to fight at 185lbs probably takes him 2-4 weeks to cut too.

Ive got Basic training on down here Soon then onto IET, Im hoping to lose the stomach in that time:cool:
Being away from chocolate will definitely help remove the aerodynamic curve ive got:o

i'm 5ft 8 and 75kg, so you must have reasonable muscle at that size and weight

It could be just a mind game thing since ive got such skinny wrists and ankles. I blame bone structure for that:p
Ive always said i wouldnt mind to be sitting around 80kg though:)

They fed us pretty well in basic training, I'm sure I could've been a lot fitter if I'd followed my own routine instead of theirs :(

And Islas Malvinas are a group of Islands off the coast of Argentina... if you know your British military history you'll have heard of them :p

Ive heard of the Falklands so im guessing its something similar to that:p

As similar as you can get actually, because that's exactly it :p

Not the best place in the world really... but at least it's summer when I'm there and I miss the British winter (don't even think about mentioning Christmas, I'm pretending it doesn't exist this year) :D

Any update on how you're getting on OP?
