Being half Finnish, I can confirm that my Sauna trips in Finland are normally around 80c, though sometimes up to 90c.
You must bear in mind that the air is damp so it does not feel as hot as you might imagine. You can really feel the heat when you blow on your skin, it really hurts.
Beating each other with a Vasta (big sprig of birch leaves all tied together) and jumping in the lake afterwards, before having a nice cold bottle of beer whilst chilling out afterwards are also mandatory.
Boys and girls all naked together but with no sexualilty in it at all is a little odd for a non-Finn.
*edit*
Chucking beer on the coals instead of water is great as well. The smell is amazing. For a truly old school experience you want to try a Savu Sauna (Smoke Sauna). This has no chimney so the smoke stays inside.
