Would you bend your principles for money?

Nice responses for once, well done GD for keeping a thread on topic :p:D

I'm just going to leave the review up and *** the money. Having a read back through their feedback there are at least half a dozen other reviewers with complaints similar to my own. Falsely advertised as "very good" condition. Once can be an error, but six times? They are just trying to pull a fast one and fob some dodgy stock off, thing is some people will buy the not so good stuff for cheaper if they just advertise it correctly. Though reading some of the reviews I got off lightly, people with pages missing from the books, covers missing etc. Mine had a slightly disfigured spine, a foxed front cover and yellowed pages (bad enough I know, especially for me who loves books :D)

Sent them a polite reply just saying along the lines of "please advetise your products correctly in future, thanks but no thanks on the refund and can you please leave me alone now" :p

I'd not take the tenner and add "tried to bribe me to remove negative review". And then forward his e-mails to the website.

I have no response to the op, but to the title I would ask; Is that not money's sole principle?

no, money's sole reason for existing is so you don't have to take a cow down to perspective to barter for a new pair of glasses.

I don't understand people who leave negative feedback on the bay or the rainforest without contacting the seller first. They'll either say sorry and offer you a refund or a replacement or be a **** about it. If it's the latter then leave negative feedback.

This.

I understand that the information was misleading, but the fact that the person is willing to give a refund is fair. Rating is important to sellers and we dont know the circumstances behind this. Maybe he just made a mistake.

EDIT: Oh i just re-read... sounds like its happend to other customers. OK leave it up then :)

i'd do anything for a few quid, i've just decided, this decision is mainly weighted on the fact i have 0 cigarettes left and no money to buy any more, so anyone willing to part with £6.43 with the chance of me doing anything you want, then get in touch

If I was going to compromise my principles for money, it would certainly be for a great deal more than £10. :D

i would normally say take the tenner since they are wanting to keep customers happy but then i remembered i got offered a replacement product(and keep the original) once after i gave a poor review, i declined it and the review stayed.

I'd expect a refund anyway if it was not sold how advertised so I would take the money and leave the review.

However I might point out that I'd like to think i'd never bend any principals I stood for for a tenner. I'm just not that poor haha.

Ask the seller to make a £10 donation to a charity of your choice, on proof of donation remove the review.

You got book to read
Seller didnt get bad review
Charity gets some money
Everybody wins?

Or ask for £20, its the way bribes work, he opened too high make him pay

For £10 i'd personally just leave the feedback. The feedback will **** him off more than than £10 would give you in pleasure.
