My mum has an antiquated mobile phone and wants me to sort out an upgrade but im abit out of touch. Mostly its stuffed in a handbag and rarely used, but she is talking about wanting a decentish camera on it. She's happy with touchscreen having tried my SG2 and she definitely doesnt want a phone with a qwerty button keyboard like a blackberry. So crucial elements:
- Ease of use
- Good battery life (standby rather than heavy use)
- Camera

Network is unimportant so what would folks recommend for a phone in the £50-£100 bracket? As I think thats what she will be prepared to pay

Cheers guys :)

I'll have a look at the San Fran cheers Asim.

So is Giffgaff a contract or payg? I don't think she would use £10's worth of credit on it every month. She much prefers her landline :/

payg only.

she can get a £5 with 60 minutes and 300 texts. and I think the mobile net is still pretty cheap if you're a light user.

You'll need an unlocked handset. Think the Orange SanFran (real model name: ZTE blade) can still be unlocked via http://www.nextgenserver.com/calculator/

But honestly I think the camera sucks in them. Check pictures in reviews first against Nokias/SE in this price range as they are likely better. The sensor in the SF is pretty average at best.

or an O2 branded phone will work without unlocking.
