This is what i don't get, yes there's a lot of big patches for PS3 games, but often they include completely free content yet people still bemoan them. The perfect example for me is Buzz, they gave you several free characters, free extra questions, a couple of extra game modes again for free, yet people moaned that they came in a big patch!

With all PS3 games you can play offline without patches, this has been mentioned many times before but i thought i'd reiterate.

That's the PS3/PSN for you, patches take an eternity to download even on a 50mb connection. I almost wept when I put Burnout Paradise in my PS3 and saw the size of the downloads

To be fair, i had a proper 'mare with the PSN on my old virgin connection. Since moving i've switched over to a 'much slower' 13mbit ADSL connection which gets much better speeds from the PSN.

Gt5 was by far the worst for me. Over an hour and a half to patch and install. I played forza whilst it sorted itself out....

Reminds me of the first time I tried to play Everybody's Golf online with my other half. 'Let's check it out' I said, 'OK, but I was happy with single player' she said, 'It'll be a laugh' I said.

Two hours of patch downloading later...

'I'm going to bed' she said.

It was a tongue in cheek comment but I don't see how it's so hard to believe that game which is almost 2 years old has had a few patches. Especially when it had a popular multiplayer mode as well.

MAG is just as bad. Worse for me because I had both of them from Lovefilm on the same day and decided to try them. What a mistake that was, could have done a fall day shift at work by the time GT5 and MAG has installed and patched......then patch the patch.
