For a while now I've been trying to organise meeting up with girl that I met at a friends party...for the most part it never happened as I had gallstones which put me in hospital three times this year (third being the operation to remove my gallbladder). Now my op was in April and I haven't messaged her since then as I thought she'd just be bored with me organising things and not getting anywhere.....

Anyway I've finally messaged her and I'm anxiously waiting a response. I just know it won't happen.

Argh! Odd thread I know but I'm terribly anxious since sending the message! I'll be checking all night now.
 
You need to calm down son, you've met a girl at a party and you're already getting clingy.
 
I can't believe you have the gall to ask on an internet forum.

Although it sounds like it took proper stones to send the message.
 
I'm not asking for any advice. I'm just trying to be positive! I'd almost not bothered, I stood her up three times due being ill and in hospital. Had a generally crappy year with health after putting the effort in to lose 5 stone (which I did)...I tend to overthink things anyway...

Well then let me tell you. I messaged a girl today (on facebook) for a completely different reason. Took her 5 hours to reply. I think you're fine dude. We live in an age of technology, but DAMMIT, we will not get to a point where we are worried if 20 minutes goes without someone answering a message.

This tbh. Girls can smell it if you care too much early on and it's a massive turn off. You need to try and adopt a 'take it or leave it' attitude wherever possible.

She'll be none the wiser, yet, but the point I'm making is that it sounds like you're way too invested after meeting her once and never meeting up with her again. You know next to nothing about this girl, and you're in danger of idealising her already if you're really that fussed about hearing back from her after only 20mins...

Cardinal rule: Don't put the ***** on a pedestal.
