Not sure if card or game is at fault

Ever since owning this sapphire 5850 extreme since buying it from OcUK in april, when I play need for speed shift 2, I get occassional washing out of colours in the game. Like at the moment, the race circuit and car I'm loading has faded bodywork, dull looking grass, faded colours on the racing line. When I minimise the game and then maximise it again, it's back to normal with nice vibrant colours. I've not heard of anyone else with this problem in the game, although I know the game is full of bugs, so could I have a faulty card and is there a way to properly test it?

How does it perform in other games? It dosent sound like the symptomes of a duff card to me (well I've never known a dead one do that anyway).

That's the problem, ever since installing this card, all I've done is need for speed and F1. In 2 weeks when the time trials end in the pc games forum, I'm going to spend time with long neglected games on my hard drive, such as crysis 2. I'll see if it does the same thing.

It could just be the games conflicting with your monitor setup? I know what I use (32" sharp) has some 'AV Mode' options that adjust the contrast etc..but there is one called 'dynamic' which changes everything on the fly depending on what your viewing, a dark page will be come darker while some brighter pages will become brighter/sharper.

I've no idea tbh, I haven't set up any profile for my monitor. Here's a 1080p video I just made. Does it shed any light on the problem? I'm just about to post the same on the need for speed EA forum to see if they know if it's a game issue or not.
Video shows the proper colours at the start. I then quit the circuit, go to a random menu, go back and load the circuit again, and you'll see the colours have changed/faded. Look at the racing line, grass, sky and car colours and compare to before I quit to menu. I tried to record minimising the game to desktop then maximising the game which would show the colours back just the same as the start of the video, but fraps doesn't do that. But take my word for it.

Thats a strange one, I would say its more down to the game and/or drivers. If a GPU has or is going bad its usually something more drastic than fading colours.

Yeah. So if we rule out the graphics card, and I've been told it can't be a monitor issue, I guess it must be the game.
