I just brought this

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-035-AR

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler (Socket 939 / AM2 / AM3 / 775 / 1155/ 1156 / 1366)

I've bolded the socket that my CPU uses, its a i5 2500k, yet the fan i've received states it only supports intel 1366, 1156, 775... Have overclockers sent me the wrong model or is this fan indeed compatible with my socket 1155?

Thanks in advance for any clarifcation you can provide

Sockets 1156 and 1155 use the same mounting holes so it'll be fine.

yeah, a reboot seems to have sorted it I think it's a slight compatability issue between the cooler and the Asus AI suite, I'm getting some mad readings, and changing the fan profile can result in a 0 RPM reading, but moving it to different profile will seemingly bring it back into scope. I've checked though and the fan is spinning nicely even when it's reportedly at 0.

Edit: it's just told me it was at 58,000 rpm ;)

I had to uninstall Asus AI and then re-install to get it to pick up the correct RPM on my artic.. Same with asus fan expert to get it to calibrate properly with fan speeds

Will you please let me know what you think of the cooler as i am thinking of getting one of these, or is there another cooler you would recommend on a budget of £25???

reinstalling ai suit seems to have helped, but its now upset AI TurboV Evo..oh well i'll sort it one way or another.

Luke123, my first impressions of the cooler are good, I've just ran a benchmark which previously caused my CPU to get over 73 degrees, the hottest it got was 60!! thats a big difference, it's also really quiet and I can't notice it at all until it hits 2000rpm or higher, even then I have to listen very carefully to hear it. Very pleased with this purchase so far, except for the apparent Asus AI suite incompatibilities...
