Heya guys, playing games like Crysis2 and Civ5 the highest graphics settings and playing minecraft as it is cause me to keep getting out of memory errors that either crash the game or ask me to close them.

It's since I upgraded from a 4890hd to a 6950hd 2gb.

I've only got 4gb of ram but it isnt going anywhere near my physical limit nor is it filling my pagefile.

Help?

Minecraft is completely standard.

Forgot to mention I'm running 1920x1200 dvi-vga

Edit*
Turns out my computer had set my pagefile to 4mb >_< Now thats sorted.

Another problem is that despite being a i5 2500k @4.4ghz, 4gb 1600mhz 7-8-7-20 ram my computer's boot is stupidly slow, post takes 10-15seconds, booting from there takes about 10 but once it gets to "loading windows" it takes about 2minutes for everything to load.

The Page file is automatically set to the same size of installed RAM so mine is 8182.
It my be a sign that you really need more RAM.

Boot up speed and loading up background applications/tasks is actually much more dependent on the speed of the HDD than anything else. You should either try to reduce the number of applications/tasks that load up when windows starts, or you should consider getting a decent SSD and reinstall windows and your applications on it- boot time would much shorter, and windows will be ready to use as soon as you get into it (since the load up of applications takes no time at all).

I have 4gb ram, only about 2.5gb was in use, my page file was 4mb, now it's 4gb again.

Using x64 yeah

Marine I have a WD Green 7200 which was recommended by a member on another forum. Only got msn and CCC starting up.
