I've got this cooler and I am now loooking at four Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850 fans which are 3 pin so not PWM controlled. Will I still be able to control the speed of them with the button on the Corsair H100 block?

Given the size of the radiator would it be feasible to run the H100 with no fans (for a light work CPU loads), and would the pump noise negate the benefits of attempting that?

OK thanks. I originally thought that they were voltage controlled. I will have to look into other fans then.

Hamster have you tried your H100 with no fans to see how loud or silent the H100 is ?

I've not installed it yet. I'm still waiting for my RAM before building. I assume you mean with just the two fans that come with the H100. If so will let you know how noisy they are once i've completed the build as I will not be changing the fans until next week.

If the opportunity arises where I can do that then I will but I will be installing it initially with the supplied fans which are already fitted to the radiator.

The fans that come with the H80 are loud!!!!! I'm guessing they're the same fans that come with the H100 and will need replacing.

It appears that the solution would be either use PWM fans of which I can't find any which superior to the GTs in terms of noise and airflow through a radiator or a better solution being an external fan controller with all fans plugged into one single control. I really do not want one of those all singing all dancing Nasa space centre controlling led fan controllers on the front of my 800D though.
