*** League of Legends ***

I'm a rager and blame my team for most of my own fail
/most lol players

Started jungling a bit more, love Trundle for ganking the solo top DPS with his Ulti :D

I like to command my team mate peons to do my bidding normally :D

However there are cases when it just isn't possible, either your team don't speak English, are complete children and won't listen to what you have to say or a combination.

I do tend to find people listen to me a lot more when I play a jungler. For example this morning I decided to play jungle Nunu, after sucessfully stealing the enemy junglers blue, getting my Karthus our blue and helping score a double kill down bot we were STILL losing because Trynd and Xin were going all rambo. However they actually listened to my directions and we eventually won after an hour :D Oh so satisfying.

best just to stay quiet in normal solo queue games imo no one listens , no one cares they just want to play even if it means they dont do very well.

solo ranked isnt as bad generally half the team will know what there doing and the other half will go along with whatever you want

The amount of times I'm jungling and I'm like

"Hi guys, can you go here *ping* I would like to steal their wraiths and red"
"UR NTO MY BOSS"

-.-

The bane of my life in ranked is people constantly pushing their lanes when I'm jungling and then going 'omg noob doesn't gank blah blah blah' when I've clearly said they need to stop pushing if they want me to gank. They also usually complain that they got ganked when they pushed on the opposing tower all game.

I really need a duo partner who is capable of understanding how to lane properly as that would make ganking infinitely easier.

We have to do it sometime mate, I know you added me but been a little busy losing lol.

The best ones are the ones that cry for "no ss". Wards exist to protect against ganks, if you can't buy wards then you aren't capable of protecting yourself and deserve to die.

I always tell my teams to buy wards, and even ping where to place them, but still 5mins later the only wards that are down are the ones I've placed myself. It seems people are only bothered about getting their items, and if they get ganked, it's someone elses fault for not calling it.

It's one thing to be ganked by a jungler, yes you should have a ward. But...
if you don't report that a laner is missing, you are not helping your team, there is no i in team but there is in items and that is the careful balance you must take to stay ahead and keep your self well built.

Yes, and no. One quick glance at the mini-map is all it takes, and if you are aware enough to expect the jungle gank you should be aware enough to expect a roaming laner. Before placing yourself in any offensive position where you can not easily fall back run a risk assessment. When occupying dangerous terrority (more often than not, being closer to the enemies tower/jungle than your own) keep one eye on the mini map and watch for enemy icons. It is better to b and lose a wave of exp and live than get ganked, losing the exp anyway and giving the enemy carry precious gold.

how do you expect people to constantly watch the minimap and push a lane without making mistakes that get you killed?

it takes 3 seconds to type a simple SS or just press G and click on the minimap the direction the guy went

Typing is undesirable because its very easy to get chat locked. Keeping one eye on the mini map is easy. As a general rule, if you are dying allot because 'people arent calling ss' you are playing a) too aggressively b) over extending c) are a solo tryhard

It's not exactly much easier to look at the chat and read SS, compared to say, looking at the map and seeing it for yourself.

Awareness is important. If you're pushing, take a look at the minimap, are your enemies all accounted for? If not, be careful, minimise the risk.

ok I give in, I've started playing!
anyone recommend me a chap? I was thinking one of the ranged ones like Ryze?

At the start levels pick what appeals tbh - at early levels the best tip I can give is try as many champs as you can - use the free champs to see what type you like. Don't worry about Runes till level 21.

Their are tips on the first post of this thread that are worth doing but really just get in there and have fun :)

Just try champs on the free rotations to begin with. Typically the ranged auto attack champions are easiest to learn (Ashe, Caitlyn, Corki, Ezreal, Miss Fortune, Vayne etc) as they allow you to sit further away from the action.

Use website like mobafire and solomid.net for guides on champions (how to play, what items to build etc). I also find watching live streams of the top players helpful :)

It's really a matter of just finding champions you enjoy playing. I would say don't spend money yet, as it can be a bit marmite.

Not sure about your set up, but for me, that mini map is way too small that I can't keep an eye on it and stay free of snares whilst last hitting. It's way too small on my 22" @ 1920x1080 to see whether they are b to get their health back or they have wandered off towards my lane.

It's not always the heavy pusher that gets ganked. It can be the lone laner stuck to their tower getting tower dived even at full health, who can't run because they might get caught between towers and a hard place. ;)
