Well that's the font I have on my plate, the nice police man who stopped me explained it was illegal and I would need to change it.[TW]Fox;19971968 said:Thats the one I keep seeing. Far too many of them to just be a chav thing. Pretty sure I've seen it on police vehicles etc as well.
I was just thinking it looked quite fun for 2k!!The plates may be legal but it would be a Crime to buy that thing.

Actually, I retract my statement. According to Wiki any sans-serif font is ok. Wish I had known this at the time I was drilled by the policeman.

To be fair I was quite grateful he was just talking to me about my plate and nothing more severe! You'll have to learn not to just bend over and take it.
Indeed, I just realised the same...That is incorrect. It is in the Republic of Ireland where there is no standard font specified.
The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001 statutory instrument applies to both Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It replaced the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1973 instrument that formerly applied to Northern Ireland.

Yep all that sounds like it would make quite a fun adventure to me!Fun? While its probably the vehicle I've spent the most time on 3 wheels in, they're painfully slow due to the weight of it, and you won't get more than low 30s MPG due to the thrashing it takes to get anywhere and as a result it also means that parts can wear out quickly. Over 60mph is an effort and the brakes are rather concerning. The electrics can get damp due to it all being under the passenger seat, which means it sometimes needs a blast of WD40 to get started in the winter. Rust is also an issue.
The key thing really in terms of living with it isn't just the height, or even the visibility out of the back - its how much longer it makes journeys.
Having said that, unless they've depreciated massively in the last few years, £1800 seems reasonable.
970cc ouch!
