Which 6950 to get?

looking on ocuk they only have 3 1gb version, £185-£188 so only ~£10 less than the cheapest 2gb version.

your best bet would be 2nd hand(post a bit more before you get access to the mm) or if you want new search around to see if you can find it cheaper.

the 2gb would xfire but will not make use of its full 2gb.

might be better off saving money and waiting for the next gen due end of the year/begining of next year.

btw what res monitor?

I have a problem my motherboard has two PCI-E slots but on top of one there's X16 and on the other X8 will this mean I won't be able to put two in?

I will be able to crossfire this with a HIS 6950 1GB?

Also is 650w enough to power these cards?

You should be able to Crossfire any 6950 card with your HIS 1GB one. It's just that in Crossfire the card with 2GB VRAM won't benefit from having the extra RAM.

What PSU have you got?

Also having 2.0 PCI-e slots will make any difference?

Difference as opposed to what?

What motherboard are you using?

TX 650W corsair and will the cards be compatible with the 2.0 PCI-e slots? The motherboard I'm not entirely sure it's a gigabyte that supports AMD AM3/AM2+/AM2 processors it's a ultra durable if that helps.

It doesn't help at all, I can't tell if the mobo does symmetrical Crossfire or not.

The cards are compatible with PCI-Express 2.0 as that's the current standard (that is backwards compatible btw).

It's just a question of what kind of bandwidth your motherboard supports.

The PSU would be fine, it has 52A on the 12V rail so unless you do some crazy overclocking, there won't be any problems (except for the need of using molex to PCI-E power converters).
