Star Wars Saga on Blu Ray - George Lucas fiddling with it again

NOOOO%21%21%21.jpg

Shame he adjusted them. The vadar "no" and the obi ones scream just are way out of place imo. Defo ruins the moment of them scenes.

If the originals are in the bluray box sets they probably will be the crappy letterbox versions we got with the dvd releases which im still peeved about as why the hell did they do that i dunno.

Greedo firing first is probably the only 'edit' I don't like from the '97 Special edition theatrical re-release, which are my favourite 'version' of the films.

Greedo firing first was bad enough for me, but i could bare it. The majority of changes in the ops videos aren't that big a deal to me, i even prefer the CG yoda to the rather freaky hairy one that was originally in ep1.

However the 'NOOOOOOO' turns one of the most powerful scenes i had ever seen in a film as a child into an internet meme.

Glad i bought the dvds rather than wait for the blurays!

Since the visuals of when vadar says "no" are not effected maybe we could just mute it till the "no" is over with. Or maybe someone will edit the audio so it doesnt have him say it in a fan version of the blu rays.

I'd still hear it and would have to put the whole star wars saga box set through my tv.

Which means me having to go out and buy the whole saga from somewhere as I'd only have IV V and VI in the first place.

Most of the epic tension in that scene is seeing Vadar look from Luke to the Emperor and back, leaving you in a state of 'will he, wont he'.

It's the only time in the 3 films that you see Vadar flinch and waver.

Exactly.

The point of changing something is to enhance whats already there not just for the sake of it.

Vader saying nothing said more than what they have added

Its pointless change and its ruins the scene.

Lucas has lost the plot

I don't get you lot, if you own the original versions which you love, why cry about new versions you don't like and ultimately you have no need to buy?

I have all the original versions and the special editions, I don't buy blu-rays so have no issues with GL making new versions that I will never buy, and I went to the cinema in 1977 to see the originals and don't get all precious about them.

I had them on tape and my ex half inched them.

I was going to get them on DVD but by that time it was close to blu ray/hd dvd coming out so I decided to wait.

Now its being changed. Its besides the point, do you see any other fan base hating the changes to its films? Blade runner? Aliens? No, cos they all made the film better.

These changes make the films worse. Also I hate George Lucas.

Dr Who you cant exactly buy the originals in 1080p tho can you? Which is what the new bluray release was suppose to be for or at least what many wanted it to be.

yep - cinema is an art form - once the art is done the creator should not go back and try to 'improve' it because it no longer belongs to them, it belongs to us.
