What are your reasons for not liking Oasis?

That Marc Bolan knicked off Chuck Berry.

The absolute 100% fact is that The Stone Roses & Inspiral Carpets didn't save guitar shops and instead during that period you needed to stock up on synths to make ends meet.
As brilliant as John Squire was (and I stood in front of him twice) people weren't flocking into guitar shops to be like him but thankfully Noel was one of them.
Thanks to Oasis & Blur guitars started selling again.

There have only been a few times when guitar shops saw much increased sales because of bands/artists and the Stone Roses weren't one of them.

I'm not arguing that Oasis made guitar Popular again. I just wanted you to give a nod to The true innovators in the Roses.

I have a lot of time for you on these forums m8. I respect your opinion.

FFS mate Definitely maybe came out almost 18 years ago and is still regarded as one of the best albums and more importantly is still being talked about. Can the same be said for Radiohead?

DM and Morning Glory still sound amazing now.

The Drummer on DM is very poor and ruins the Album some what for me.

Noel Paid him off for 100K in a court settlement.

If he had refused the royalties from the Album alone would have made him a millionaire.

I guess a 100k at the time was to tempting.

Cant say I paid much attention to the drumming since the quality of the songs kinda covers that up for me.

I would expect Noel looked at most guitarists and realised how crap he was but it's all in how he put the chords & melody together to create a monster band (basically plagiarising the old greats).
There is nothing unique about Oasis, their songs are rehashes of other peoples songs, they aren't innovators, they have a front man everybody wants to punch and a guitarist a few less want to punch but they knew what a commercial sound was.

I don't think its was just the guitar playing. I think he realised that Radiohead were ******** mint!

i only know a few of their biggest hits, but i am not a fan, Liam is a spoiled idiot who is about 20 years overdue a smack

Now, i am a Stone Roses fan, still listen to their tracks regularly, and they were innovators, but didn't get the commercial sucess they deserved, imo.

When I was at school, all the people who listened to Oasis were white, borderline chav, *****, with their heads way too far up their backsides.

I found their music, particularly after the first album to be highly reptitive, dull and just samey.

My dad used to play the CDs constantly and I am physically sick every time I hear it.

They're a pair of vaginas.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head as to my dislike for them. It wasn't my dad but my best friend at the time plus their stuff has been played to death.
