Yeah nothing really happened to Gizmodo, I think they even got off with no fine. The person who picked it up was another story though.

Just a speculation on the future iPhones and maybe 5.

This kind of design invites a much thinner design than the iPhone 4 and you wonder if its possible. I believe the answer could be yes if the case/entire chassis is machined from a single piece of aluminium. This would allow them to use as much of the enclosure as possible for internals. When you look at the size of the glass on the iPhone 4 you can see theres huge room for space gain.
Seeing as this is the current trend for Macbook Pros then it could entirely be possible.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is said to have lost another iPhone field-test unit in a bar. And so the Web goes into "iPhone 5 release date" overdrive. This time, the portable prototype was left in a San Francisco watering-hole by an errant employee, who is presumably seeking a new position as we speak. However, there do seem to be some holes in the story. In IT*Blogwatch, bloggers smell a rat.

It has to be a stunt, haven't they left all iPhone betas in pubs.

Two minor issues with that...

1. Where is the phone and WiFi antenna? There is a reason phones are made of plastic or have plastic lugs. That wouldn't work with apples current design either as that depends on separation between the metal bits (and hence the problem with the grip of death).

2. The screen rubbing to the edge of the chassis. Unfortunately that will make using that screen a major pain as holding it will cause contact points on the screen and impossible navigation, unless there is some kind of patented tech to stop it registering....
