Opinions on this E92 please?

It's nice, but do you specifically want an auto? I drove an identicle car to your one and found with the auto box it was very boring to drive.

You're paying a bit of a premium for going low miles as well, I've seen a few decent 335i's slip under £20k now with a good spec and low enough miles. There is even a member selling his at the moment for less than that in brilliant condition.

Yeah I'm aware of fox's 335i, I'm not sure I could live with the economy though. I do the best part of 20k pa so anything sub 35 mpg is going to be painful. I realise that getting a 35 mpg average from a 330 may sound optimistic but I get 50 mpg consistently from my s60 d5 which is rated at 44 mpg combined so getting 35 mpg sounds possible??? My commute is a 30 mile a/b road trundle which is done at an average of 35 mph.

I feel an auto would suit my usage but I haven't driven anything at this point, I'm purely window shopping.

I didn't think the economy between the 335i and 330i were massive.

I'd drive both a manual and auto before setting your sites firmly on one, I couldn't own/live with an auto as it felt so dull and boring and couldn't even find a manual that I might be interested in at a local BMW.

Quite a difference on paper at least, a manual ed 330i has a combined figure of 39 whilst the 335i is 31 I believe. I know these figures are generally make believe but they give an indication at least.

I think the real day to day difference in Fuel Economy between the 335i and 330 is not that much, fox will be able to tell you.

His car at 20k is much better or you can have my one for 15k and use the extra pennies for petrol and tax :D

Although that's a 58 plate car it has the old version of Idrive. Which I wouldn't want on a car at that money.

Im aware that there was a facelift at this point, how do you know from the ad that its the old version?

Depreciation is a given but 2 hours every day travelling justifies it in my book.

The new version is easy to spot - only one DVD drive and an updated controller with lots more buttons on the controller itself.

My point being that given you'll be shedding £10k+ in depreciation does a few mpg here and there really matter?

The car linked in the OP also has horrible elephant grey leather, which would put me right off!

Maybe the few mpg doesnt make that much difference but I need to draw a line somewhere and a diesel is on the cards. Is 35mpg a realistic consumption for my kind of usage or am I being optimistic?

Thanks for the info on the updated nav, it will make it easier to spot the newer version.

If you are doing that kind of milage I'm guessing much of that is on the motorway? I would say 35 mpg would be easily achievable.

I've just bought a e92 325i 2.5, according to the obc it's averaging 32.1 mpg. The drive from brum to Stoke showed as 37 and that was the first time I drove the vehicle apart from the test drive. Mine is a manual though, I personally would not go for the auto.
