Playstation 3 Question

Got my new Router yesterday , all my laptops are running like a dream , i am having trouble with my connection on ps3 keeps kicking me out of network after a few games , any ideas ? starting to stress me out

Might be worth putting the PS3 in a DMZ, some routers interfere with the traffic

Try disabling the media server connection under the network settings tab, sorted it out for me.

I have to do that, i still get Moderate NAT tho :/

Still can connect to everyone as though its OPEN, and its as solid as a rock the connection

I get this, always have. I have a cable connection too so no conflicts on network. I have had the problem with both a linksys and d-link router.

It sometimes crashes my router, therefore I lose connection on my PC.

Tried everything suggested in this thread. What router are you fellas using where you get no problems?

My linksys would crash on a regular basis when being used on the ps3, fixed itself into not happening since when i updated the firmware on the router.

this is actually a good tip. my firmware happens to be up to date but the last update was may 2009. seems like d-link don't support this router now.

freebie with virgin, so i'll try and get a lend of a different model router and see if it is the problem.

My PS3 and my brothers 360 were both set up with static IP's. Both have been set up to forward the appropriate ports (many routers have these as preset rules nowadays), although this shouldn't be neccessary.

Then about 2 weeks ago, my PS3 couldn't connect to anything. I had to put it in the DMZ to get it working again. My brothers 360 continued to work flawlessly.

Had to hardcode my IP address back when I had this problem. Worked perfectly after that.

Check for updates on the router

Failing that, give your PS3 a static IP address, then add the following port forwarding to the static ip address in the router

TCP Ports: 10070 - 10080
UDP Ports: 10070

This has seemingly solved the problem, thank you pal.

If it's the DI624+ and you have half an idea when it comes to computers you should put custom firmware on it, it's an excellent router once DDwrt is installed
