75% off everything Borderlands on Steam

Had my 1st decent online game yesterday, just with a random guy, was only the 2 of us for most of the time. But we did a couple of missions together and even took down Sledge and I got too purple guns out of it :D

I'm playing as a soldier at the moment, but I have this weird problem where I can't mouse over my sniper rifle proficiency to see the current bonus'

Do you need to be in four-player co-op to get the pearlescent guns? I've had trillions of white/green/blue, a lot of purple, some orange but zero pearlescent.

No. I have 3 level 69's and a level 40 and have only ever found 1 pearl so far, that was a rocket launcher in a random chest while on Armory DLC.

Yeah, I read that only Armory has the pearlescent weapons. Did you not get any from Crawmerax or have you not done that mission?

Same here and I'm a Hunter . Got my sniper rifle level up to 11 but cants see any bonus info.

No, there will be one in Borderland 2 though.

Gargh, was hoping there might be a mod or something, guess its not a big problem for most people. i should really know where to go after 25 hours playing it lol.

I have killed craw loads on different characters and havent seen one drop. I only do craw with online random groups as I haven't had much sucess soloing him :p

The chest that had the pearl was just before you go into see Knox. I'm always a bit paranoid about pearls and legendarys as I find them hard to spot because i'm colourblind. I end up checking every gun and looking for the extra red text on the stats.

Just this second blown up the Armory now. Not a sausage. I think I only got one orange weapon in about 20 crates that I managed to open.

I plan to finish the original content first then move onto the dlc . Is it best to do in a particular order? Also if what is above is correct once you enter the new dlc if you dont finish it it resets or just returns you to yer starting position and you have to drive back to where you were questing ?

There is a glitch so you can get into the armory lots of times to check almost all the boxes. Seeing as you have completed the first quest for it, there is a second chance one called super marcus sweep I think.
If you do it, DON'T go into the elevator room or you will start the timer etc.

Poss spoiler in this vid, so watch it only if your not too bothered.

I have been through most of the boxes loads, and you are lucky to get a few decent orange guns from it. Still, I find it interesting because you never know what you might find :)

Also for those that are wondering about the best order to play the game and DLC, this site is very helpfull

I'd do them in the order they came out - although because of doing every single quest in the main game, I found Claptrap and General Knoxx very easy - I'm about six levels above everything.

When you play the DLC and quit, it just starts you at the initial spawn point (New-U station). All your quests that you have done will still be completed. It's just a pain to get back to where you were sometimes. There are plenty of spawn points for when you die though, it's just when you start a new session you go back to the New-U station.

Yeah, I had that problem on my first playthrough. I was doing every quest and was way ahead on level for the main storyline quests. I followed that guide on my next character and it was a lot more challenging all the way through.

Thanks for the guide URL. I've sort of cocked it up already. Level 44 now and I've still got Dr Ned Zombie to play to finish playthrough 1. Can't be arsed with the Moxxi DLC. Tried several times but keep getting killed. :D I should be able to skip a lot of missions on playthrough 2.

yeah, I would say the main game is playthrough 2 anyway. You got loads of talent points and can make some interesting character choices. Once you finish playthrough 2 ALL of the content scales to your level and the bosses all respawn, so you can go around finishing any quests that you have skipped and you won't be over level for it. It's a great system to add lots more value to the game :)

Also, if I was you I would skip Dr Neds for now and just start playthough 2. You are already a few levels over really, I think the mobs are about level 36 when you start playthrough 2 so you don't want any more XP now if poss.

If the proficiency doesn't highlight when you mouse over it, then you just need to actually click on the proficiency ;) works for me doing that.
