US Open Tennis, August 29th - September 11th

Have to admit, watching Fed vs Cillic at the moment and Federer is no longer the player he used to be...hes having real issues seeing off Cilic and i wouldnt be surprised if Cilic beats him...tied at one set all, Fed breaks him in the first game of the 3rd set then promptly goes and gets himself broken lol.

To be fair, with Berdych gone Novak's quarter of the draw has cleared up for him nicely. I think he's got the easiest route of them all to the final now.

I don't think Federer will win another slam to be honest. He is getting beat by the lower class of players when it only used to be the Nadal/Djokovic/Murray who beat him.

Federer is a strange one, because in a single game he can play his best tennis and his worst. He just can't seem to get games where he plays solid throughout.

Oh Nalby, how I have missed that backhand. He could have the beating of Nadal if he can go the distance. He'll probably have to do it in 3 though!

Bandy no chance in 5 with his fitness, that's why I said he'd have to do it in 3. Hence my  when I'm asked "you sure?"

Bearing in mind that Nalbandian started at odds of 11/1, so it's a bit like saying "you sure? :p" in response to "Swindon might be able to hold Man Utd to a draw" after they go 2-0 up :D

Simon looking really good against Del Potro. I think he'll take out Murray in the quarters.

He was a force to be reckoned with a few years ago, got into the top 8 but injury took him out for a year or so and he's slipped under the radar. Definitely my dark horse here.

Were they saying he was dehydrated or something? Said he was ok after have a drink of water.

He had severe cramp and I'm sure we can all empathise with Nadal there.

It is surprising that a Tennis player with easy access to drinks gets cramp though. Much more common in football.

I always thought the cause was dehydration.

It was more the "might have the beating of Nadal" bit. :p
