Hi all,

Just picked up a second hand iPhone 3GS, my first time using an iPhone.

So far Im loving it, but I have a couple of questions Im hoping you can help me with.

#1. On my previous android phone, there was a widget I could put on my home screen that would switch off 3G with a single screen tap. Is there something similar to this for the iPhone? I know it can be disabled and enbaled in the settings menus, but Id like something faster if its available.

#2. the speakers dont seem to be working. Ive tried googling a solution to this, and done a few things like using compressed air on the headphone jack, soft reset, turning the mute button on and off. All to no avail. I do get sound through earphones, just no speaker sound. Very odd issue.

Any help appreciated!

Matt

The speaker maybe damaged. All it is - is a piece of thick envelope type paper and maybe it has a rip? (I learnt this the hard way when I took a ipod apart and ripped it off accidently). Or maybe it has water damage, is it 2nd hand?

Yeah its 2nd hand, could be why.

I am hoping the speaker isnt damaged, but the phone is still better than my Sony Xperia Mini even without it lol.

As mentioned above you would need to jailbreak. SBSettings is a nice app for this sort of thing - it's a tray that slides down and then you have various configurable toggle switches and utilities you can access. There are also toggle "apps" you can install to the home screens so there's probably one of those for 3G, not used it myself as when I ran that sort of thing I just had SBSettings installed.
